our big day

It's really almost here! Although there have been many i's to dot and t's to cross, none of the wedding details have been as interesting or important to Beth and Dave as those of the ceremony itself (the whole reason everyone's getting together that day, right?) And they have done a lot of work to make sure it is a reflection of who they are, and who they will become.

Be sure to check out all the location information for maps, directions, and parking information for the ceremony and reception. We've made it easy by holding them in the same location - so we'll have more time to share together!

the ceremony

Although the ceremony is slated to begin at 6:30pm in the White Chapel at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, you won't want to miss the gorgeous string quartet musical prelude, arranged by Dave himself, beginning at 6:00pm. A little extra time will give you an opportunity to check out the chapel, and sit and reflect in its beautiful design! Plus, you wouldn't want to be late for the processional, right? We thought so. And don't worry - the program won't be nearly as hard to open as the invitation.

The ceremony will be presided over by Pastor David Bibbee, of the Creekside Church of the Bretheren in Elkhart, IN - Dave's home congregation. He and the couple have put together a beautiful wedding ceremony with a broad selection of hymns and readings that will lead into the exchange of Beth and Dave's personal vows. As the ceremony ends (around 7:30pm), the couple asks that you follow them from the chapel, and proceed directly to the receptional hall for the receiving line. As you leave you'll again be serenaded with more specially selected tunes by the string quartet - Enjoy!

the reception

Beth & Dave and their parents will receive guests as they enter into the Hulman Union for the reception. After you are greeting, you'll be whisked upstairs to the guest book extravaganza, receive your table number, and enter directly into the dinner, beginning at 7:45pm. An elegant meal with a variety of entrees and delights has been chosen - we know you'll love it! The bride and groom will join the guests after awhile, and then jump right in to the festivities! There will be a few group photos at this time, so be sure to freshen up a bit. With some toasts and speeches, and the cutting of the cake, the dancing will begin - all to a live jazz combo, of course! Look out for a couple of special guest performers. The party will wrap up by midnight - hope you can stay for all the fun!

other items to note

To help parents of 'little ones' in attendance: There will be professional child care (2 providers) on-site with a room set-up for your children free of charge. The Performing Arts Room in the Hulman Student Union (where the reception will be) will be open for kids from 6:00pm (before the ceremony) until midnight. There will be toys, dvds, sleep mats, and some "kids food" for those who prefer more 'sophisticated' fare than the adults. You are by no means "required" to leave your kids in this room all evening, but know that it is an option. (We want the adults to be able to enjoy a little free time, too!) If you have any specific questions regarding this service, please let us know.

Group Transportation: We are currently working on an alternate form of transportation for people who would prefer NOT to drive themselves to and from the ceremony/reception and their hotel. (As we are serving alcohol at the reception, we thought it only responsible to offer alternatives). With the (quickly) rising cost of fuel, though, we are looking into this in more detail, and would like to know if you and your party would be interested in this option. Just drop a quick email to us and let us know if you would like to partake in the free service. Currently, we are planning the following tentative schedule:

4:00pm - 1st shuttle bus leaves Drury Inn/Pear Tree Lot
4:30pm - 1st shuttle bus arrives at Rose Hulman
