by air

Although Terre Haute has their very own international airport, you may want to consider Indianapolis instead, as they have more options in the event you need to fly. You will probably still need to rent a car, however, as Indianapolis is still quite a ways from Terre Haute, and public transportation can be a little pricey. If you drive from the Indy airport, follow the directions from I-70 below.

by car

From Interstate 70 (east or west):
Take I-70 to exit #11 (just east of Terre Haute). Turn right (north) onto State Road 46; continue 3 miles until road ends. Turn right (east) onto US Highway 40 (Wabash Avenue). Continue 1/2 mile to the stoplight at Rose-Hulman; turn left into campus. Once you drive into the property, turn left and continue until you reach the furthest parking lot. A sidewalk will lead you to the White Chapel and around the lake to the Union.

From US Highway 41 (north or south):
US Highway 41 will become 3rd Street in downtown Terre Haute. Proceed to Ohio Street (marked by signs indicating US 40 East). Follow US 40 for about 5 miles, all the way through town (signs will divert you from Ohio Street to Wabash Avenue at 11th Street - this is still US 40 East). Rose-Hulman will be the left about 1/2 mile past the stoplight at State Highway 46; turn left into campus. Once you drive into the property, turn left and continue until you reach the furthest parking lot. A sidewalk will lead you to the White Chapel and around the lake to the Union.

Online map programs are a little goofy when it comes to finding Rose-Hulman. If you use the address "6100 Wabash Avenue, Terre Haute, IN" - you will get a much better approximation of where it is located. If you wish to forgo all of that and just see a general map, see below.
